We are pleased to announce an important strategic evolution within our organization, which responds to the challenges of digital transformation and the rapid development of SAP technologies.
This reorganization follows the planned departure of Séverin De Beaulieu, head of the SAP Fiori and BTP team, on December 31, 2024.
Indeed, we have decided to take advantage of this departure to realign our organization to better meet the needs of the SAP market, particularly in light of the growing prominence of new SAP technologies and upcoming migrations to SAP S/4HANA.
Merger of SAP ABAP, Fiori, and BTP Teams
Currently, we have two distinct teams: the SAP Development team, led by Mickaël Roose, and the SAP Fiori and BTP team, led by Séverin De Beaulieu.
These teams have developed specific expertise in their respective areas over the years. However, to better respond to the challenges of evolving SAP technologies and the increasing needs related to the migration to S/4HANA, we have decided to merge these teams.
Starting on January 1, 2025, both teams will be brought together under a single entity, which will be named the SAP Technical and Transformation Team.
The goal of this new organization is to strengthen the coherence of technical skills and facilitate better cross-functional collaboration between different aspects of SAP development, particularly ABAP, Fiori, and BTP technologies, while also anticipating the needs of digital transformation through SAP S/4HANA to provide efficient and sustainable solutions to our clients.
One of the central pillars of our mission is our expertise in supporting the migration of our clients from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA.
Our approach is based on a global transformation supported by:
- Adopting the Clean Core by replacing custom developments with standard SAP solutions or BTP services, reducing customizations, simplifying updates, and taking advantage of standard innovations.
- Activating Fiori spaces and SAP BTP services to modernize the user experience and foster agility and innovation.
Why this reorganization ?
This reorganization addresses several strategic goals :
Anticipating SAP Market Evolution
The number of migrations to SAP S/4HANA is increasing, and it is crucial for our company to prepare for these developments by centralizing expertise within a single team. This transformation represents a significant opportunity for both the company and each of us.
Strengthening Technical Coherence
By merging the ABAP, Fiori, and BTP teams, we promote the cross-functionality of skills, enabling better management of SAP transformation projects and increased responsiveness to market needs.
Optimizing Human Resources
By centralizing our expertise into a single team, we ensure better utilization of existing synergies between SAP technologies and maximize the long-term impact of our projects.
Remaining Competitive
In the face of technological challenges in the market, we will offer a more flexible and responsive structure.
Mickaël Roose will lead the SAP technical and transformation team
It is only natural that Mickaël Roose has accepted the challenge of leading this « unified » team. His role will be to coordinate various projects and pre-sales activities in these areas, manage strategic priorities, and ensure the team stays aligned with new technologies and the transformation needs of our clients’ information systems. Mickaël will also be responsible for implementing skill development plans to ensure the team’s expertise aligns with the growing demands related to SAP S/4HANA.
To achieve this, Mickaël will rely on new team members in this new structure. We are creating four new positions for this purpose:
- Team Leader – Technical [FR] (also open internally): Responsible for operational management and providing expertise to the Technical team in France.
- Team Leader – Technical [PT] (open externally): Responsible for operational management and providing expertise to the Technical team in Portugal.
- Technical Leader – S/4HANA Conversion (open externally): Expert in SAP S/4HANA conversion processes, coordinating and managing conversion roadmaps across projects.
- Technical Leader – SAP BTP (open externally): Responsible for implementing and promoting BTP services for our clients, with a focus on business development, pre-sales, and technological monitoring.
Technical Advisors will also be appointed within the team. These individuals will play key roles in facilitating collaboration and collective skill development, acting as the most experienced professionals in their field, always staying up to date with technological advancements, and providing support for the team when needed.
What does this mean for you ?
For all concerned employees, this reorganization should not lead to major disruptions in your tasks or responsibilities. However, it may offer new opportunities for development, particularly through the access to the role of Technical Advisor and training on the latest SAP technologies. You will also work more closely with experts from other fields, expanding your skills and reinforcing your know-how.
In conclusion
Séverin’s departure marks an important step in the evolution of our company, but it is also a great opportunity for us to reinvent ourselves and adapt to new technological dynamics.
Mickaël, with his expertise and leadership, will be a key asset in successfully leading this project and supporting the team through this new journey. We count on you to make this change a collective success and seize all the opportunities it offers.
We also take this opportunity to thank Séverin for all the work he has done with his teams and his contributions over the past six years at Applium. His expertise, positive attitude, and daily smile will be greatly missed! We wish him all the best in his new professional and personal endeavors.
Thank you once again to everyone for your commitment and enthusiasm as we move forward with this next stage in our transformation!
Note: The organizational structure in Portugal remains unchanged for now. Baptiste will continue to be responsible for the Portuguese teams. We simply wanted to indicate, through a dotted line in the organizational chart, the operational link between the French and Portuguese technical teams. Arnaud Pecoste’s role as Technical Advisor remains unchanged.
